The good feelings between Japan and Turkey which began after the Ertugrul Frigate went to the bottom in 1887 showed its effect and Alanya Municipality decided to open an exhibition.

There was a meeting which was participated by the representatives of Alanya Chamber of Commerce,Alanya Hoteliers Association,Alanya Tourism Promotion Foundation and the representatives of travel agencies.Underwater Researcher Tufan Turanlı showed a presentation and gave a briefing from the exhibitions about Ertugrul Frigate in Japan and in different cities of Turkey.
The representatives exchanged their opinions about the Projects which can attract the Japan Tourists who like the culture tourism.Alanya Mayor Hasan Sipahioglu said “ We are on the way of establishing Marine and Ship Museum.The candidateship of Alanya Castle and Dockyard to the World Cultural Heritage List is accepted.I am very hopeful about the arrangement of Ertugrul Frigate Exhibition in Alanya.If the assets of Alanya related to Culture Tourism are announced enough,we can make here an attraction venue in terms of culture tourism.All the restoration and arrangements at Tophane District matches with Marine and Ship Museum Project”
Alanya Mayor recorded that Japan tourists were not effected from snow and rain and they were different than the tourist who like sea,sand and sun.He said “ Ertugrul Frigate can be an importat factor for taking the attraction of Japan Tourists to Alanya.We want to determine the route of this plan in this meeting.”
After ALTSO,ALTID,ALTAV and TURSAB representatives had expressed their opinions about the subject,Alanya Governor Hulusi Dogan suggested a commission to be formed in order to work on the development of Turkish-Japan relationship and to attract the Japan Tourists to Alanya.
