In men’s category English Oliver Beckingsale and in women’s category Slovenian Blaza Klemencic were the winners of the 11th international Alanya Mountain Bike Cup which is arranged by the cooperation of Alanya Municipality and Turkish Bicycle Federation. At the races attended by 170 sportsmen from 14 countries, the world-wide famous English biker Oliver Beckingsale came first by making 1.47.05.00 out of 45 km lap at the historical Alanya castle. Slovenian Blaza Klemencic came first by making 1.22.06.00 out of 38 km lap in the category of Elit Women. Natalya Krompets from Ukraine was the runner-up by 1.26.21.00 and Senem Guler from BRISA sport became third by 1.28.0022.00. Within the concept of the organization, M. Eyup Karagobek at junior men category, Barbara Benko (Hungary) at junior female category, Hamza Kansiz at star men category, Mustafa Ozyilmaz at 90 minutes races, Andriyan Khristoforov (Russia) at aged 30-39 category, Edward Francis McDevwit (USA) at aged 40-49 races, Ferdy de Boer (Holland) at aged 50 and above category became winners. Alanya Mayor Hasan Sipahioglu making a statement regarding the organization “Bikers performed greatly in the heavy rain. 170 sportsmen from 14 countries pedaled in the rain. I would like to thank everybody and the sponsors who put their efforts to the organization. Bicycle Federation Chairman Emin Muftuoglu indicating that the organization was performed by a large number of participants said that they were pleased to see the admiration of the people and the sportsmen. Muftuoglu “In spite of the weather conditions the results of the races are pleasing.” The placed competitors were awarded a total amount of 4.500 YTL. |
